Wellington College is a British co-educational boarding and day independent school in the village of Crowthorne, Berkshire. UK2Learn’s Summer Programme 2019 will be held at Barrow Hill’s Preparatory School in partnership with King Edward’s School, Witley, set in the beautiful countryside village of Surrey, and within an hour’s drive of central London and the south coast of England. The activities and classes will be held in the well-equipped classrooms and extensive grounds of the preparatory school and the excellent accommodation will be found in the senior school with its extensive boarding facilities including games rooms and chill out rooms.

Effective English Training for Adults
English is something to use, NOT to learn – why our lessons work:
Students are individuals – we develop our own syllabus, thoroughly road-tested over the years, regularly updated, and reviewed multiple times by the British Council. This has been proven to deliver more of a student-centred learning experience than following a textbook. In other words, after establishing students’ individual needs, our teachers design student-centred lessons that focus on the language weaknesses and goals of the learners in the class. We aim to get as close as possible to the tailored experience of a one-to-one lesson within our group classes – a much more tailored experience than many schools can offer.
Progress is clear – from day one we build a Learner Profile for each student using our own placement test and needs analysis information. Students have weekly progress checks and regular personal tutorials with our Director of Studies, to target learning goals in a timely and precise way. Students’ progress is assessed on what they can do with English as well as what they know. Each student has a personalised student portal with helpful comments from their teachers and regular tracking of their progress through the CEFR language levels, using our English Score System.
We know exams inside-out – we are a Trinity, Language Cert and TELC exam centre, with examiners as part of our staff so students can prepare for and take these exams in our school. We also offer TELC exams in fields as diverse as Business / Hotel & Restaurant / Technical English for Engineers. We work with many corporate clients including the NHS, IKEA, Sky, Red Bull, OneSubsea and many more.

SKOLA Regent's Park is the perfect location for our premier Summer School programme for 10-17 year olds. You stay in an experienced teacher's family home, have one-to-one English lessons and then continue to use the language during the rest of your stay in Cotswolds. Because you are the only student, you are guaranteed individual attention. The lessons are completely designed for you, so the teacher will focus exactly on what you need. Mealtime conversation, television and social contacts are all in English.
All of our teachers in UK have a university degree (or equivalent) and/or a recognised teaching certificate. All teachers have been visited by one of our local organisers. Their qualifications have been checked and their homes throughly inspected. Our centre is located on the campus of world-renowned University College London, in a lively area known as Bloomsbury.
You are literally in the middle of central London close to iconic shopping areas such as Oxford Street and Covent Garden. The accommodation is split between two different residence buildings, all close to the main campus.

A typical week at KKCL Harrow School Boarding House
Our Harrow School boarding houses are at the heart of the KKCL Harrow School experience. It is here where you will make new friends, sleep surrounded by the history and successes of generations of Harrovians before you, have the welcome and support of our House Master and House Parent, and settle into your new boarding school life!
During your induction, you are put into a ‘house’ so you can mix and make friends from all over the world and compete against each other to see which ‘house’ is the best. This system is how many British boarding schools are organized, and creates a dynamic and fun school environment.
The boarding houses are in close proximity to KKCL John Lyon's classrooms and all the world-class facilities that Harrow School offers. With sports activities ranging from swimming in an indoor pool to rock climbing and Harrow Fives interhouse competitions, our sports and games certainly have that something special! And don’t forget about the Fourth Form Room! This is where Harry Potter scenes were filmed, and is the location of our English Masterclass, during which you will compete in your ‘houses’ to practise your English and learn about the fascinating history of Harrow School at the same time!
Every day school starts with the House Master’s ‘Bill Call’ - Harrow terminology for roll call, then breakfast is served in the Harrow School Dining Hall where freshly prepared English-style breakfast is served with a range of hot drinks. You will then head off to either a full day of lessons at our Academic Centre or an excursion.
After dinner you will take part in fun evening activities, including British Culture Night, the KKCL Disco and BBQ party. At the end of a 2-week programme, the Graduation Ceremony is held in the Speech Room, where Winston Churchill made his famous speech. This is followed by a formal supper or BBQ party to celebrate your graduation!
The John Lyon School
Our main summertime academic centre is located at the John Lyon School. It is one of the leading independent schools in the UK with academic, sporting and artistic excellence, based in the picturesque Harrow-on-the-Hill. The JLS is connected to our Harrow year-round school via a short walk through leafy Harrow-On-The-Hill, and has modern academic facility that caters for up to 600 students.

You stay in an experienced teacher's family home, have one-to-one English lessons and then continue to use the language during the rest of your stay in Chichester. Because you are the only student, you are guaranteed individual attention. The lessons are completely designed for you, so the teacher will focus exactly on what you need. Mealtime conversation, television and social contacts are all in English.
All of our teachers in UK have a university degree (or equivalent) and/or a recognised teaching certificate. All teachers have been visited by one of our local organisers. Their qualifications have been checked and their homes throughly inspected. During your stay in Chichester, a local organiser will monitor your progress and make sure your experience is both happy and successful.

Our centre is located at the campus of University of East London Docklands, by the famous river Thames and London Stadium, home of West Ham FC and 2012 Olympics.
From the modern residence buildings, you’ll get a great view of London’s iconic skyline and you can enjoy easy access to public transport when you want to explore the sights and attractions of central London.
