תאור הקורס

This course includes 30 lessons per week (22.5 hours). Students will follow the General English course for the first 20 lessons during the mornings, but with an extra 10 lessons per week during the afternoons. It is available to all entry levels from complete beginner to advance speaker. The course has been designed for you to learn English with our communicative approach which will help you improve fluency and accuracy.

The Intensive English course will cover the four main skills you need to write and speak English (reading, writing, listening and speaking), with an emphasis on practical communication in common situations, such as travelling, shopping, and leisure time. The course which will still allow you to balance your classroom interaction with structured study and free time activities, with 30 lessons (22.5 hours) per week. You will learn English at the speed you feel comfortable with, while having time to enjoy your time at LAL.

There will be support with grammar and pronunciation, and we will also introduce study skills to help you to become an efficient learner and to keep learning English out of the classroom.

The course will usually follow a course book, but we will also use a wide range of materials, including real-life listening and video examples, authentic texts and on-line resources.

The content of the lessons is adapted to your needs and interests and you will have the opportunity to discuss, negotiate and plan the week’s work with your teacher and fellow students.

"Excellent experience"

In one sentence, it was an excellent experience. The school is very well organized, in terms of class arrangement and the teacher's qualification.

The location, facilities are perfect. They should have more activities in order for students to have more contact with English in real life.

About housing, It should have more diversity of food. The lunch is not that good and a bit expensive for students.

The classes about 6-8 people - not really crowded, teachers very professional and cooperative, location great in the nicest area of Cape Town - See Point, facilities - all what you need, a lot of activities, housing - for a dormitory, very good. I can just recommend! Optimal place to learn English and make fantastic holiday!

Shared rooms are only available for students booking together. During the high season (17 December 2017 - 04 March 2018), it may be possible for students to book a shared room without booking with a friend.

Breakfast is always included. Evening meals may be booked in advance at an additional cost. Kitchens are not normally available for students to cook their own food.

Clean bed linen and towels provided once a week. Bedrooms are cleaned once a week and students are
responsible for keeping their room tidy. Students are issued with a key to their room and host home on arrival.

Check-in after 14.00. Check-out before 10.00. Other times by arrangement.

There is 24-hour security at the school entrance, with an additional security guard roaming the campus at night. Students are issued with a key to their room on arrival. Lost keys charged at ZAR50.
Lock changes charged at ZAR350. Damaged towels are ZAR150 per towel.

Check-in after 14.00. Check-out before 10.00. Other times by arrangement.

Please note this residence has two cats which are free roaming.

LAL Cape Town is proud to be the only language centre in Cape Town to offer school and residence on the same site, close to beaches, main attractions and restaurants, and with easy access to public transport.

Shared twin rooms have an en-suite shower, WC and basin. Clean bed linen provided once a week. Bedrooms cleaned daily Mon-Fri. Communal areas cleaned daily. Towels changed twice a week. There is a computer room with free internet access, as well as a free wireless network throughout the residence.

Breakfast is always included. Optional lunch available Monday - Friday at an additional charge. Shared kitchen available.

There is 24-hour security at the school entrance, with an additional security guard roaming the campus at night. Students are issued with a key to their room on arrival. Lost keys charged at ZAR50.
Lock changes charged at ZAR350. Damaged towels are ZAR150 per towel.

Check-in after 14.00. Check-out before 10.00. Other times by arrangement.

Please note this residence has two cats which are free roaming.
